Some examples of items I have made in the recent past…….

I have been meaning to do this for quite some time now……..but my lack of “free time” is always preventing me from doing a lot of things that I really want to do. Not to mention, I have had some computer problems lately and my photos are all scattered so I need to reorganize them to do a more thorough presentation of my past work. I decided to photograph some of my most recent favorite pieces that I made for myself that I wear often, pieces that I intend to replicate in the near future to offer to the public.

The necklace is one that I have been remaking for years, of antique blue glass beads and deer antler. This necklace has been transformed many times, with added and subtracted elements. The latest incarnation includes a pendant I made of pecan wood, copal, abalone, ivory (legally obtained from the bone room in Berkeley),copper, leather and a resin made of beeswax, charcoal from a tree struck by lightening and crushed lavender. The clasp is made of Indonesian conus shell and a mother of pearl button. This necklace will probably change again in six months….that seems to be the cycle.

The coiled earrings are hand forged from 1/2″ diameter copper bar. Inspired by Dayak coiled earrings from Borneo, these spiral in opposite directions and i added a hammered texture to this tradition style of earrings. I make these in various sizes and diameters……

Thanks for taking the time to look at this! I plan to do a more involved and thorough retrospective blog entry this winter once I get my photographs more organized as well as my thoughts.
